Setup

Plug it in, join the device’s Wi-Fi portal, enter your Wi-Fi + wallet, and you’re done.

Power on

Use a stable USB power source. The display will boot and show setup mode.

Connect to the device Wi-Fi

On your phone/laptop, join MiniBitcoinClock (or the SSID shown on screen).

Open the setup page

In a browser, go to 192.168.4.1.

Enter Wi-Fi + wallet

Choose your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and paste your Bitcoin wallet address.

Save & reboot

The clock restarts, connects to Wi-Fi, syncs time, and starts displaying live stats.

You can change settings anytime by re-entering setup mode (power cycle or follow the on-screen instructions).

What it shows

Time — synced via internet time (NTP) when connected
Hashrate — live hashing speed (KH/s)
Diff — your best share difficulty so far (a “luck” indicator)
Uptime — how long it has been running

Diff is the most satisfying stat: it jumps occasionally when the device finds a better share. Higher = luckier, not “guaranteed earnings”.

What it is (and isn’t)

It is: a small desk display that connects to your Wi-Fi and shows live mining stats in a fun UI.

It isn’t: an ASIC miner, an investment product, or a promise of profit. Solo mining success is extremely unlikely.

Your wallet is only used for configuration. No accounts required.

FAQ

Why does “Diff” matter?

Diff shows the hardest share this device has found so far. It’s a simple way to visualize “luck”. It may stay the same for a while, then suddenly jump.

Why hasn’t it found a block?

Because the odds are extremely low at this scale. This device is mainly for learning, monitoring, and desk display vibes.

Wi-Fi won’t connect — what should I check?

Ensure you’re using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (ESP32 usually can’t join 5GHz), confirm the password, and try moving closer to the router. If needed, re-open the setup portal and re-save.

Time shows “–:–” or looks wrong

Time sync needs an internet connection. Confirm Wi-Fi is connected and your router allows NTP. If your timezone is configurable on your unit, set it in the portal.
